President-elect Donald Trump plans to enact several policy changes on his first day in office, including an executive order to ban federal funding for gender-affirming care and to restrict federal gender definitions to those assigned at birth. He intends to resume strict immigration measures, implement broad tariffs, and accelerate U.S. oil drilling while rolling back Biden-era climate regulations. Additionally, he aims to bring Ukraine and Russia to peace negotiations, reinstate sanctions on Iran, and reduce U.S. military aid to Ukraine.

Tesla’s stock surged 8% on Friday, pushing its market cap past $1 trillion, fueled by optimism that a Trump administration could reduce regulations benefiting the company. The stock has climbed 29% this week, partly due to Elon Musk’s support for Trump and a potential regulatory environment that could limit competition from Chinese EV makers. In its latest earnings report, Tesla posted $25.18 billion in revenue and $2.17 billion in net income for Q3, with Musk anticipating 20%-30% vehicle growth next year due to more affordable models and advancements in autonomy, for which he plans to seek federal approval under a Trump-Vance administration.

Amsterdam has banned demonstrations for three days following violent antisemitic attacks against Israeli soccer fans after a Europa League match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax. Mayor Femke Halsema condemned the “hit-and-run” attacks by individuals on scooters targeting Maccabi fans, calling it a “terrible moment” for the city, with 63 arrests made and increased security measures implemented. Tensions had been high before the game, with videos circulating of inflammatory chants and flag removals, and the mayor stressed that these incidents were criminal acts, not protests.

Donald Trump and JD Vance’s proposed immigration policy has raised significant concerns, particularly among Indian-Americans, as it could restrict automatic citizenship for U.S.-born children if neither parent is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This change, promised for “Day 1,” would not only impact unauthorized immigrants but also affect the legal immigration process, heightening worries for families in the extensive green card backlog. Legal experts argue that Trump’s proposal could face substantial legal challenges as it may violate the 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to all born or naturalized in the U.S., regardless of their parents’ citizenship status.

The upcoming Sankranthi 2025 is shaping up to be a high-stakes season for Telugu cinema, with four major films set for theatrical release: Game Changer (starring Ramcharan), NBK109 (starring Balakrishna), Sankranthiki Vasthunnam (starring Venkatesh), and Mazaka (starring Sundeep Kishan). These films are in various stages of production, and their success is crucial, especially for two key players: Dil Raju and Shloka Entertainments.

Dil Raju, a prominent producer and distributor, is highly invested this Sankranthi. He’s producing Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, and distributing NBK109 in the Nizam area. After a disappointing 2024 with unsuccessful releases (Family Star, Love Me, and Janaka Aithe Ganaka) and losses from distributing Guntur Kaaram, Dil Raju’s hopes for a comeback rest heavily on these releases. Particularly, Game Changer needs to be a blockbuster to restore his position and financial footing.

On the other hand, Shloka Entertainments, a major U.S. distributor, is looking to replicate its Sankranthi 2023 success in North America, where it had a streak of hits with Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy, and Varisu/Vaarasudu. This time, they’re distributing Game Changer, NBK109, and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, aiming to maintain their Sankranthi success streak.

With significant investments from producers, distributors, and other stakeholders, Sankranthi 2025 promises excitement and high expectations. If these films perform well, they could deliver much-needed wins for Dil Raju, Shloka Entertainments, and all others involved.
